Explosions in Thailand will not affect the demand of Russian tourists for tours to the country, representative of the Russian Union of Travel Industry Irina Turina told TASS on Friday.
“It will not affect the demand, because now the season is low, demand is now very high. In addition, this are not terrorist attacks that were directed against foreign tourists. According to Thai authorities, it was an internal sabotage, which has nothing to do with international terrorism,” she said.
According to Turina, none of Russian tourists was hurt; no one wanted to terminate the vacation.
“Tour operators did not record any tours withdrawals,” Turina added.
At least 14 explosions have rocked six provinces in Thailand over the past 24 hours taking the lives of four people and injuring 27 others, local police said earlier on Friday. Major tourist centers such as Phuket Island, the town of Hua Hin, the provinces of Trang, Surat Thani, Phang Nga and Chumphon have been targeted. Arson attacks were also reported in other provinces.
