Magnitude 6.6 Earthquake Hits Western Japan’s Tottori Prefecture

A magnitude 6.6 earthquake struck Japan’s western prefecture of Tottori, the Japan Meteorological Agency today.

The quake at the shallow depth of 10 kilometers (6 miles) occurred at 2:07 p.m. local time (05:07 GMT), according to the JMA.
