Iran plans to send its first astronaut into space in cooperation with Russia, the Fars news agency has reported citing Director of Iranian Space Agency (ISA) Mohsen Bahrami.

“The project to send man into space is still a priority of the ISA and we have even held some negotiations with Russia to send astronauts into space,” Bahrami said.

The ISA head did not report about any possible timeframe for completing the talks with Russia and the possible date of this flight.
